Since I haven't gotten a new TV (yet), I need to get an RF modulator to hook the DVD player up to my crappy old TV. I figure that, when I get around to getting a new TV, it will make my DVDs more fun all over again. I'm going to keep an eye on the high-resolution "widescreen" TVs for a few months to see if I might be able to swing one of those. They do look great in the stores, but beaucoups bucks! I've spent most of my money this time around on sound (in addition to the DVD player): dts-capable AV receiver, surround speakers, subwoofer, and kickass main front speakers (really high-quality ones that cost more than the rest of the equipment combined). So I may not have the sharpest pictures of my boys, but I'll sure be able to hear them well! :o)
I have finished the main painting in my "home theater" room, and I painted some of the trim today. I'm expecting to receive the (special order) main front speakers this week, and then I'll start setting things up. Since the first DVD I bought was "The Sixth Sense" (it was on sale for $14.95 at Target when it first came out), I figure that should be the inaugural disk. Number two? Probably "Billy Elliot," or maybe "The Black Stallion," or maybe "My Life So Far?" So many choices! You can see why this site has been fun for me!
I think I do remember seeing some brief images of that boy from Cirque du Soleil. Some of their taped performances have been available on VHS (and probably DVD); I wonder if that one is, too?
I'll probably dream about circus boys tonight. (Thanks!)
