You're right that there is no point in getting an HDTV set just for DVDs. As I understand it, the resolution and image quality of the DVD standard is sort of a "bridge" between current-standard broadcast TV and HDTV. If you have an HDTV set, to get the most out of it, you need an HDTV source such as a broadcast HDTV signal (only a few stations in a few areas so far, and on some satellite systems).

I agree that it's best to wait a few years before considering HDTV, but there are some really neat TV sets with flat tubes (like the Sony WEGA), very sharp resolution, component inputs for high fidelity to source, and some with the 16:9 ratio format (i.e., "widescreen"). That's the screen format that God, MGM, and Steven Spielberg intended!

Funny, I just got a copy of "The Road Warrior" the other day. I've only seen this movie once, on broadcast TV. Now I'll have to go on a squirrel hunt! :o)

I got one of those NUON-equipped DVD players, so cross your fingers that the enhanced zoom feature works for this disk!!!!
