I finally have something to post here. :o) I recently found out that this movie has finally been released on DVD. Starring two cute boys, Nick Pickard and Christian Bale; Bale went on later to star in "Empire of the Sun" and I'd be shocked if most of you didn't remember him from that film at least!
The movie was previously released on VHS under the title "Land of Faraway"; I remember seeing it on cable a few years back. I still remember the scene where Mio (Nick) and Yum-Yum (Christian) finally face the evil knight Kato... Yum-Yum tries to interpose his body between his prince Mio and the evil Kato, to protect his prince... fine, fine acting. It's a children's fantasy story that was filmed in Sweden and Russia, so it has quite a different feel than the usual Hollywood film.
Anyway, Nick is just about the perfect vision of my "dream boy", so this film has always stuck with me, and I can't wait to have the DVD in my nubby little paws. I'll be eating only ramon noodles the rest of the month, but I don't care. It shall be mine! Muhahahahahahhahaha... **cough** **hack** **choke**.... sorry 'bout that. I shouldn't try to laugh manically after sundown.
