There are some Japanese markets in my area, and I generally avoid them. The selection is rather narrow and the prices are pretty high in my experience.
For really cheap eats, what you want is the general Asian market that caters to all cuisines. The kind of place where the kim chee sits next to the Vietnamese specialties. The worse the place smells, the better. :o)
