As an answer to: My Dog Skip and Magnolia written by kabouter am 15 Apr 2001 12:01:55:

Both movie grow on me after second viewing. Magnolia is brilliant and Jeremy Blackman as a reluctant child genius is probably my third favorite child genius character on screen (first would be Max Pomeranc from Searching For Bobby Fischer; second is Corey Haim from Lucas)).

Frankie was 12 close to 13 y/o when he filmed My Dog Skip. At first I thought it's very manipulated and forced, but the second time watching it on DVD, especially after viewing deleted scenes and listening to director's commentary changed my impression. I bought into every twists and plots it threw at me without objection.

Hmm, I never thought of the friendship between Dink and Will as a bl one. Give me an excuse to watch it again :)
