Thanks SS for giving me a bunch of videos to add to my collection. At long last, I don't have to simply give up my choice when we stop at the local video rental shop.
This week I found Pelle the Conqueror.; Last week, I found The Emerald Forrest. I never dreamed that I would find such delightful films in our local video shop. I thought I must travel to the nearby big city to find anything good.!!
But I am anxiously awaiting the delivery of my Pixote Digital Video Disk. Pixote (Brazilian Portuguese slang for PeeWee) is available on VCR, now, but the DVD should be available in the next few weeks. 10 year old Ramos de Silva is the boy star of the much acclaimed Pixote video from 1981. De Silva played a reform school run-a-way involved in gangs, prostitution and drugs.
In Real Life, after role in Pixote, de Silva became and addict and juvenile criminal, much like his role in Pixote and died a violent street death. This resulted in the 1996 Brazilian film "Who Killed Pixote?". Unfortunately, I have been unable to find any info on this film! It does not seem to be available in the states? Can anyone help?And while you are at it, who knows about the Italian film "Sacred Secrets"???? All I know is Mafia and a Priest who does it with an altar boy! Boy I am hot and bother about that Italian film!
