As an answer to: Re: GayDar on Billy written by Jim am 25 May 2001 07:12:23:

I can't remember the boy's name (was it something like Nicolas King?), but Billy had mentioned on his website early on that his best friend was another boy who was also in show business. The boy played "Chip" (in alternating performances) in the Broadway show "Beauty and the Beast."

Ahem. Billy's best friend is a Broadway singer and dancer?!?!?

This boy also made a brief appearance on "Rosie O'Donnell" show, where he belted out a medley of Judy Garland tunes.

Need I say anything more?!?!?

I can just picture the headlines in 2004:

"Beloved Country Icon Admits Love for Other Boys"

NASHVILLE -- In a surprise announcement during a routine press conference during the Country Music Awards, teen Country legend Billy Gilman announced to a (not very surprised) audience that he is gayer than Christmas.

"Maybe Nathan Lane was able to hide his orientation from the world, but I've gotta be true to myself," proclaimed Billy.

The conservative Christian Right quickly released a statement pledging their full support for the fabulous teen cowpoke. "It's funny; we used to think homosexuality was an abomination that made Jesus puke. But now that Billy has admitted to liking other boys since the age of seven, we've finally realized just how wrong we've been."

Gilman's career suffered a setback in 2002 when his voice suddenly broke and he went from boy soprano to acned baritone overnight. However, his series of television ads for the Speedo swimsuit brand brought him a whole new wave of fans from all walks of life.

Heh heh.
