Fond memories of Junior Boxing

Do you all remember when junior boxing first came out? You know, when someone decided that people would pay to watch two seven year old boys duking it out with overstuffed boxing gloves. But do you especially remember that no one made boxing shorts and "protection" equipment that small, so they had to wear stuff that was much to big? Do you remember when the two little tykes were fighting, that one or the other's shorts invariably fell to the floor? There he was, standing in front of thousands of people, bare naked with flash bulbs going off all around him. Standing there with his hands up in the defensive position because he couldn't drop his guard to pull up his pants until the referee called time and stepped between them. Then when the ref called time, he had to awkwardly tug his shorts up using his overstuffed boxing gloves. Now THAT I would pay to see.

No, I don't remember this either because I think this occurred (fairly often) back in the forties. But I sure WISH I had seen that (with a large format camera in my hands of course)!
