I borrowed "The Bumblebee Flies Anyway" from the vid shop largely because there was a dross of other watchable items and because Elijah Wood is still worth watching even at 18.

In this film Elijah stars as Barney Snow, a teenager who finds himself in an experimental medical hospice specializing in the treatment of terminally ill children. Barney has been admitted with the hopes of curing his acute amnesia, through the assistance of a memory loss specialist, played by Janeane Garofalo. As Barney begins to interact with the terminally ill patients at the hospice and the devoted sister of a terminal cancer victim (played by Rachael Leigh Cook) he develops unique relationships that result in powerful revelations about life and loss. Inspired by the scientific fact that the laws of physics make it impossible for a bumblebee to take flight, this gripping drama subscribes to the belief that mind over matter allows people to conquer their physical illnesses and personal suffering.

OK I snitched the above resume from his official site, but can I add a special mention for Richard Force who plays a brain-diseased 12 yr old Allie. What a superb performance. Also very good is George Gore II - as Billy - what a personality and screen presence this larger than life youngster (11? 12?) has!!

This is a film worth catching folks. Its intelligent as well as entertaining and should keep you involved, Elijah notwithstanding
