Hi fellow movie buffs :-)

For those whose interest in boys extend to the late teens, you might want to check out Final Destination (available on VHS and DVD...we watched it last night on Pay-per-view and made our own VHS :) ). This is a well crafted horror / psychological thriller that goes several levels above mundane horror 'slasher' films.

Devon Sawa stars as Alex, a high school student planning a class trip to Paris with 39 other classmates, plus a couple chaperone teachers. Moments before the plane is to leave the gate to take off, he has a premonition that the plane will explode right after takeoff. He freaks out, an argument/fight ensues, and several classmates and a teacher are either are ejected from the plane or leave because they believe him.

Of course the plane explodes right after take-off...and then death begins to stalk each of those who got off the plane, one by one. Alex discovers a pattern behind the deaths, and with the FBI on his tail (because of their suspicions of him and his role in those who survived) sets out to try to save the others.

Most horror movies make me yawn more than anthing else; this one had me jumping at each 'unexpected' death, and sitting on the edge of my seat during most of it.

I linked a pic of Devon as 'Alex', and a review of the movie from Upcomingmovies.com. Anyone else seen this yet? :)

Ed
