I wouldn't say John Francis Daley has had an unlucky year. How many actors have been in 3 TV series in the same year, including 2 at the same time? He might not be on the very top of the ratings, but he's getting lots of good reviews and the type of notice that could turn him into a big star.
Also, I don't think "Geena Davis" has been cancelled. It went on hiatus for the new show they're showing now in that time period, and the other show did so well that they kept it on for this month. But I think Geena will be back, hopefully with JFD.
