Ghod it was tedious searching amongst the rump of the new video releases for at least something that would entertain me this evening so I headed west into the tatty old b-movie section for some inspiration and found this nondescript movie called Rocket Gibraltar (1988) which promised to show me Burt Lancaster playing a septuagenarian enjoying a surprise courtesy of his grandkids..... hmmm..

No ideas as to whom to expect so imagine my delight when the little picturesque blond boy of maybe 5 or 6 turned out to be Macaulay Culkin in his first film role. It was obvious fromn the start that this little boy had screen presence and I was gratified to note that this was way before all the hype. Mac had it. No question about it. The camera loved him and even though this film was endowed with a bevy of cuteys Mac steals the scene every time.

I couldn't have been more delighted. The film is no great shakes but it isn't that bad either with a wince factor of only 3/10 (maybe).

Well I am glad that I found it and I recommend it to the boy film connoisseur. I always had special fondness for Mac Culkin and he has never let me down.

Take a bow!
