Actually, I realized later that I was confusing this film with "The Mission," which is also about missionaries. "The Mission" (Robert DeNiro and Jeremy Irons) definitely has a lot of Indian boys running about, often without benefit of covering. I saw "Black Robe" when it first came out, and I remember it as a really good movie, too; however, I don't have clear memories about boys in it. Maybe someone else has better recollection or has seen it more recently than ten years ago.
