Some sites, such as Geocities, have their servers set up to refuse to load images in imbedded files that originate elsewhere. In other words, they block "freeloaders" such as you or me from using up their valuable bandwidth by including their images on our pages or messages. I guess there is some code that detects whether the image file is called up for a "local" page or a "remote" page: if the former, the image loads normally; otherwise the server just sends an error message.
It does make sense from their point of view, but it does cut down on the fun! In most cases, I don't think you can even post a working LINK to the image file (I'll try it below).

P.S. I didn't know who Shia was when you first brought him up a few weeks back, since I've never seen Even Stevens (or is it Stephens? :o)However, when I saw that "Shia Heaven" site, I realized he played the cute boy in "Freaks and Geeks" who was the mascot with the broken arm before Sam and Neal took over as mascot. I remember thinking when that episode aired that I wished Sam would invite the old mascot for a sleepover. :o)
