Re: original QAF. I thought this would be way too "queer culture" for me, and certainly the characters, even the alleged 15 yo, are way beyond my AOA.
But a funny thing happened upon watching. It turns out this is an incredibly well-scripted, hilarious series with lots of complexity and character development. I'm switching between it and the first season of The Sopranos DVD box right now, and the similarities are evident in that they're well-made television.
More than that -- QAF is actually sexy. No, it's not going to make me a convert to loving men (wait a minute -- I'm involved in a relationship with a man!), but it can be erotic as hell. And the alleged 15 year old, who I believe was 17or 18, is _extremely_ attractive, especially when he's in his school uniform.
I give this my heartiest recommendation, even for BOBLs.
