I snagged a copy of the first season of the UK "Queer As Folk" on DVD there.
What did you think of those Mancusian accents? I had trouble understanding some of the characters, especially Donna, Nathan's school chum. I kept hoping she wasn't saying anything to advance the plot.
It should have had courtesy subtitles for UK-impaired Anglophones a la Ratcatcher.
Once when I tried to buy a newspaper in Manchester I was shocked that it cost "twenty pounds". I finally realized the seller was saying "twenty pence". :)
