Hi all --
I saw Spy Kids this afternoon. I had heard that kids would enjoy it a lot, so I took a chance and deliberately went to a showing that was full of pre-teen kids. I'm always apprehensive when I do that, because restless, whining, squirming kids can really ruin a movie for an audience.
Not this time. The kids all loved it. During the (infrequent) silences on the sound track, you could have heard a pin drop in the auditorium. This a truly great film for kids, and there's a lot of funny stuff aimed at adults as well.
Of interest is that Spy Kids was made by Richard Rodriguez, whose previous movies have been loaded with blood and gore, such as El Mariachi, Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn, which were all good flicks, but not for kiddies.
I recommend Spy Kids; it's fun for everyone.
