I also really liked Mark Lester & Johnny Whittaker (anyone remember his musical version of Tom Sawyer).
Some of my later favorites are Barret Oliver (I still think he was one of the most perfect boys ever), Ike Eisenmann, Ronnie Scribner, and Phillip McKeon.
