As an answer to: Has anyone seen 'Ratcatcher'? written by Bonzo am 07 Mar 2001 06:14:24:

Hi, Bonzo!

Just happened to browse by and saw your messages. Glad you are still stopping by here from time to time.

I saw Ratcatcher a few weeks back, at MY local art moviehouse. I did like the film, and I was glad that I saw it. I would not call it a boy movie classic, but it's worth seeing. It's in the genre of "boy growing up in a poor working class setting" such as "Billy Elliot" or "Joe the King." Gritty realism rather than escapism, but a basically well-made film.

There is one "skin" scene where the main character takes a bath with an older girl. We only see the boy nude from the rear, but it's not an unpleasant scene. :o) Other than that, the boy keeps his clothes on.

The cutest boy in the film is shown at the very beginning, but he meets an untimely end shortly thereafter, which is troubling (sorry for the spoiler, but I know you're man enough to take it! :o).
