A few of the people to whom I sent e-mail inviting them for a sneak preview responded via e-mail but have not posted anything on this message board. I won't mention any names, but I can tell you that they're yella! :o)
Anyways, one of these fellas asked me about the Criterion Collection edition of "400 Blows", which is unfortunately out of print. I think he was wondering how it compares to the edition that IS still in print, and was debating internally whether it was worth paying a premium to track down the Criterion Collection edition on ebay.com.
Of course, I do not know, since I have not seen EITHER DVD edition. I have seen this film on VHS many, many years ago and liked the film very much.
So here's the first test of the combined expertise of the assembled experts: let's have some reviews of 400 Blows! (Thank God Phred is not here yet, or he would not be able to resist posting a review like: "400 Blows Blows!")
I noticed that S.M. has a copy of the Criterion Collection, and I would not be surprised if Hopeful also has a copy. So what's special in that edition, fellas? Does anyone else have the other (generic) DVD edition? Would anyone care to post a synopsis and/or review of this as a boy movie? Keep in mind that 1) I will freely steal any reviews posted here and include them (with attribution) on the B.O.Y.S. site, and 2) I don't believe that one review is enough: the more the merrier.
So let's hear what you guys think about "400 Blows", okay?
