War of the Buttons (1963): a review

Where do I sign up for this crazy outfit? A movie that has everything; strategy, escalation of conflict, cavalry, motorized weapons, prisoners of war, combat nurses, traitors, torture, etc. And all in a movie about a feud between the boys of neighboring villages. The buttons in the title refer to the souvenirs the boys take off their foes to humiliate them. Worth watching.
Of main interest is the tatic the lead boy comes up with to outsmart their opponents. And that is, attack without any clothes on! You get to see several blurry boy butts from a distance, but the youngest boy is shown in partial frontal nudity, with his hand cupped over his privates. Which isn't bad if you think about it, especially since a few bits show through in freeze frame.
