Today DC and I are going down to the Flats to the open casting call announced over the weekend to see if we can be crowd scene extras in a movie set to be shot here this summer about one of this city's most gruesome murder cases.
Namely the Cleveland "Torso Murders". This was arguably Americas first big serial killer scare and led to the downfall of former Cleveland Safety Director,
ex-G man Eliot Ness. Between #1934-1942 (?) some crazed killer, nicknamed the "Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run" decapitated, sexually assaulted, and dismembered at least 13 and as many as 42 people leaving their headless torsos to be found in the industrial wasteland of the Flats. He was never caught and Ness' inability to catch him led to his "early retirement" and sound defeat when he ran for Mayor. Rumor has it that William Forsythe has been signed to play Ness.This could be a fun way to spend the summer. Being in a movie would ne something. (Especially when victim #6 was discovered by 2 Black boys roughly the same ages as DC and myself, who knows-maybe we'll be "discovered".)
I'll keep y'all posted, you know ANY movie set in a city is gonna have a lottas boys in it, hehehe.
