Just a quick comment, there is a post on Fireheart that states that the reason for deletion is a certain individual posted a link to a porn site, took a screen shot, and then send it to the parsimony.
As an alternative, the committee might want to look at www.ikonboard.com for a simple perl board that allows you to limit posting to registered users. Tripod allows perl scripts and setting the board up for committee only would allow any committee member to post messages and prevent any trash that would delete the board.
This script is easy to set up on Apache servers but needs rewrites for NT servers.
This might be a quick and dirty solution and who cares if it dies afterwards.
