I borrowed Ghosts of the past (aka Mississippi) to watch a bio of NAACP leader Medgar Evers and was then pleasantly surprised to see Lucas Black pop up as the eldest son of Bobby de Laughter (Alec Baldwin) the man who successfully tried Evers' killer in 1990.

Lucas displays his manic black-browed grin to good effect although there is precious little of him on the screen. Just thought I would alert you all to this appearance in a surprisingly strong movie featuring a talented and experienced cast. Whoopi is also good as the widow Evers but the cake is taken by James Woods' portrayal of the evil racist murderer Byron De La Beckwith. Suffice it to say that I thought the actor WAS the man - a true testimony to his powerful acting.

Its a good film and teases with a hint of Lucas. See it.
