Fond memories of the theater.

Do you remember going to the community theater with your father. You know, that time they put on the production of “A Midsummer’s Night Dream”? Remember how great it was seeing all those boys running around in leotards. I know, it was rather hot in the theater. It was an old building and they hadn’t installed air conditioning yet, just those big fans overhead. But it didn’t matter to you, with all those boys frolicking around. In leotards.
But do you especially remember after the play, when your father wanted to talk with his friends that helped put on the play? It was so hot in the building that your father let you go outside and wait by the car even though it was dark and very late. It was so, so much cooler outside. Remember how you forgot that your father got to park in the back of the building because of his friends and you had to walk all the way around the building to get to the car? Do you remember when you got to the car you just stood there dumbstruck with your mouth wide open? Just staring, unable to move an inch. Just because someone had propped open that door. Propped open that door because it was so unbearably hot inside and so cool outside. Propped open the door to the men’s dressing room. You could see straight into the room. Remember how you stood there in the pitch blackness watching as one by one, the boys from the play got their leotards peeled off them. Peeled off to their naked bodies. One after the other. One after the other. Naked bodies. Naked boys.
Do you remember how you begged and begged to be taken to the play again. And since your father liked the play too, he took you back again. And it was hot in the theater again. And against all probability you got to see the performance once again. I mean the one after the play.
Yes, I remember. I definitely remember. Do you?
